As a social media platform, Twitter is undoubtedly growing in popularity and looking forward to further growth and expansion over the coming months. Those that have already been using Twitter (at least in a business context) for a little while will no doubt already be aware that there is something of an art to it - it certainly isn't as simple as just tweeting what and when you fancy.
Too many tweets can annoy followers and lose them, but too few results in poor engagement and not being noticed. Our question for this post however, is - are tweets better sent at a busy time or a quiet time, or does it make no actual difference?
If a tweet is sent at a peak time of traffic flow amongst your followers, will more of them miss it because it gets lost with so many others and disappears down the feed quicker? If a tweet is sent at a quieter time, it will stay on followers' feeds for longer with an increased chance of spotting it - but then are your followers probably not looking at their feed then anyway?
It is certainly NOT the case that tweeting only in business hours makes you appear more professional, all it does is suggest slight naievity in digital marketing. Do you think that the amount of traffic on your followers' networks affects the metrics of the tweet you send at that time positively or negatively?
